Whereas students were given a chance to
prove their ability by organizing
scholastic events and other activities.
School Transformation
During 2018, Head Master P. Ashok
and 7 other teaching staff came to this
school on transfer by order. Head Master
P. Ashok took initiation to change the
academic environment of the school. One
such success story was achievement of
Kum. Gedam Kalyani, who secured a 10
GPA in SSC public examinations during
March, 2019. He intended to secure 100%
result in the 10th class and was fortunate
enough to achieve the same. He stayed
back during evenings up to 6 pm and took
special classes for 6th to 8th class students
in order to improve their foundation in
Mathematics. Special coaching was also
given to 8th class students involving all
the teachers to prepare them for the NMMS
exam which resulted in selection of 5
students. The library period was organized
for all the classes weekly once by issuing
books to students to carry them home.
Book review sessions were also conducted
to know whether they are reading library
books at home. He even encouraged
students to write small stories in their own
words. This resulted in publishing of
stories and poems penned by students in
"NETI NIJAM" daily newspaper.
Transformation of Schools into Vibrant Learning Hubs
Usually summer holidays would be
for more than 50 days and children would
tend to be away from books as they don't
have access to them nor have any library
facility, even parents tend to ignore this.
Thus they thought school should take this
responsibility and also resolve the poor
reading habit among the children.
Therefore, the school staff thought the
concept of 'Summer Library' would be
really helpful to enhance the reading habit
among the children and also help them to
utilize the holidays in a productive way.
During a staff meeting before
summer vacation, Head Master had
discussed the concept of providing access
to Library to students during summer
vacation. It was concluded that Library
activity shall be continued in holidays and
made 8th passed out students as Library
in-charge. Along with the Library
in-charge P. Ramesh, all other teachers
agreed to monitor the library activity. It
was briefed in a meeting on how to
organize library activity during vacation
and also decided the days for issue of
books (Wednesday and Saturday). They
have been provided with 300 selected
library books and a long notebook to
maintain the book's issue details.
On the last working day of the
academic year, 4 organizers issued books
to students of their choice and instructed
