country, opening new avenues of
learning for its students to become
self-reliant. They talk on inspiring real time
situations and also entertain each other
apart from holding a constructive
discussion on mathematics, the most
effervescent subject. When talked about
the learning experiences and cultural
diversity, the school students feel excited
looking at the resources in the USA
classroom, share their school schedule, the
subjects they learn at school, know about
their hobbies. However, it was a great
challenge to intersect the two sides of the
globe at single time slot.
2 Transformation of Schools into Vibrant Learning Hubs
Initially, the mathematics teacher V
Padma Priya, who is one of the Fulbright
scholars, under the guidance of the
headmaster convinced parents of VIII
class students to allow their wards stay
back after school hours till 7.00pm in the
evening for making sure every child
participate in the interaction session with
USA school students and its faculty. Most
of the parents supported the programme
in the pretext that their children would get
an opportunity to interact with global
students. The sessions were appropriately
planned in consultation with the USA
teacher who teaches math. The students
from both the nations were overwhelmed,
in a good way and be on their heels to
engage in talk.
